Type Locality and Naming
Jiaolai Basin. The Linsishan Formation was named by Wanglaiming et al. (1992) in Facheng of the Haiyang County. The key section is the Facheng Honggou – Lengjia section in the Haiyang County of Shandong (121°03’, 36°57').
Lithology and Thickness
The Linsishan Formation is mostly composed of purple red, purple grey thick-bedded conglomerate intercalated with sandy conglomerate, sandstone. It is 100 m to 3000 m thick.

It underlies the Zhifengzhuang Fm conformably.
Regional extent
The Linsishan Formation is distributed in the Laiyang, Haiyang, Zhucheng and Chaigou areas.
